the only game in town! I remember when the ring finding
competition was so hot, some hunters were scrambling
to top the 100 ring mark for just that one summer!
I can safely say more gold and silver rings have been
recovered with Fisher 1280-X detectors than any other!
ABOUT THIS DETECTOR
This detector was purchased from me, by a local
hunter to be used after he passed his scuba course which
because of several health issues was not possible.
I took this back-on-trade towards a high end shallow water
detector. This 1280-X has been used only a very few hours
surf-hunting in fresh water.
When I decided to e-Bay it, it was on my rack next to a
brand-new 2021, 1280-X
I HAD TO LOOK CLOSE TO TELL WHICH ONE WAS NEW!!!!
This detector is in perfect condition, fully tested and ready to
find treasure!
I have been a metal detector dealer since the late 1960's and I can assure you that
this detector is working  (perfect) in every way.

is being sold by an estate sale, or worse yet a pawn shop,
or by someone who cannot know if the detector is working right!

Full time automatic ground-cancel
tracks and adjusts out the ground signal
automatically! It literally erases the ground as the ground changes!
It must be used with reduced sensitivity in wet salt conditions, but it will
hunt in salt water!
The whole detector is submersible to 250 feet!
Will work in fresh or salt water
Visual Target Response: Light Emitting Diode
It has adjustable discrimination so that you can
reject as much trash as you care to.
The detector comes with the waterproof  8 inch
search coil for general all purpose hunting,
waterproof headphones, and the housing can be pole mounted
or body mounted. (not recommended)
While it is true; that the coil and headphones are hardwired,
this 8 inch coil is
not
a compromise, it will detect small coin and jewelry items better
than the large 10 inch coil in heavy trash areas. It will actually
hit on the tiny jewelry items better then the large coil. Yet, it has
extreme depth for marine salvage (outboard motors, anchors etc.)
or on large relics like guns and cannon balls.
Consider this fact;
I will not use the 10" large coil, because it will not fit into
the areas I like to hunt! The smaller 8 inch coil will get you around the weeds, brush and the rocks!
