and it was sold new "by Pro Stock"
in the fall of 2019!
I have been a metal detector dealer since the late 1960's and I can assure you that this detector is working correctly in every way.
You are not bidding on a detector that
is being sold by an estate sale, or worse yet a pawn shop, or a company with 6 different names, trying to hide from a bad reputation!  Or, by someone who cannot
know if the detector is working right!

As a long time Garrett and White's dealer, I fully understand the origin of this White's detector. . . far better than most.
Whites had a submersible, waterproof, detector in the Beach Hunter ID, which utilized the White's DFX dual-frequency circuitry, and it excelled for jewelry hunting in salt water. But, in fresh water it was less than impressive
and stubbornly buoyant.
Being a dealer located in the Great Lakes State of Michigan, I not only love water hunting, I was forever looking
for that "better detector" for finding lost gold jewelry and coins in swimming areas. When everyone felt like multi-frequency was the future of metal detecting, along Whites came with a legendary single frequency that caused the treasure hunting community to take notice!
That detector was the new MXT!  Right away, I thought if the MXT circuit was in the waterproof  Beach Hunter
ID housing, WOW! it would be the best water hunting machine with NO EQUAL!
I started sharing with Whites, my idea and frankly I even included a well laid out plan. The MXT circuit board, if used in the Beach Hunter waterproof housing, required no special tooling,  even the same search coil would work!
After a couple years of pestering them, (with no response,) I decided to build my own.
Before I got started, my distributor called me.  In his big factory order, was a prototype detector  which White's asked him to send to me for testing!
Yep they did it! They even went one better, it included the new tone ID!
I very quickly fell in love with the detector! I tested it in Michigan's Iron Range, up in the northwester UP, in Iron County, Michigan! In the very lake that I was in, a fellow can dig a hole with a magnet!
BAD GROUND!
I came back with a smile on my face and gold in my pouch! I was asked to write a review on the detector and received
permission to share my success with local treasure hunters. Before we even knew a price, I had well over 2 dozen orders!
Time dragged on over the following winter, and as spring approached, my phone started ringing!
"When can we get the new detector?" was the question, and I was wondering the same thing. Finally, I asked my distributor to check into some production dates.
That weekend he was in Sweet Home, OR, and he tried to pin them down to a date.
That was when they told him they scrapped the plan. They had an opportunity to learn about a new product that Garrett was introducing, and they knew they could not compete against it . . . they were right!
This new Garrett went on, to-this-day, to be a legionary detector, the AT PRO.
However, that prototype did continue in development for nearly 7 years,  but sadly I am afraid the development took a little too long.
When it was first released as the "MX-Sport,"  it was a combination of three machines rolled into one!
It was much like an AT-Pro with many depth enhancing options.
It is A much better Salt Water machine, a better gold hunter than the Garrett AT Gold, and it used that
famous MXT Relic Hunting ID technology.
Garrett, ever-the-great-competitor responded with the AT-Max but the MX Sport was just too much
detector for the AT Max to beat . . . but not too tough for Covid. Whites finally closed shop.

THIS DETECTOR'S STORY
This detector was one that I sold to an old friend from here in Michigan. He is a retired teacher/ snow-bird, who loves to hunt the surf in Florida, near Sarasota, at Siesta Key. He had been running a Fisher CZ-20 before getting a White's MX Sport.
He hunted with a MX Sport for two seasons with amazing success, being the first hunter to find Indian Head cents and V-Nickels in the salt water at that location, all with his MX-Sport!
He decided to update to
this
new MX-Sport in the fall of 2019. Then, that winter he was blocked from hunting due to beach closure because of the pandemic. Also, during the pandemic, he had shoulder surgery, he didn't get a chance to use this in Florida at all. Because of his ailments, he traded this in towards a lighter weight machine. This detector only has a couple hours use on it! The headphones are still new!
This is a multi-purpose, waterproof, metal detector that can be used on the beach, at the ghost town, park, school, or even under the surf!

Because this machine has an advanced, adjustable, automatic, ground-track system, which is fast enough to  track "OUT" wet salt or alkali ground,
it works well in fresh or salt water!
FREQUENCY: 13.9 kHz
. . . Was chosen for its ability to detect tiny gold without sacrificing depth on coins and deep relics. This detector, with the stock 10" DD coil will detect a tiny 3-grain nugget at 1 to 2 inches! Not impressed?
A 3-grain gold nugget is about the diameter of a BB and as thin as paper. We call a nugget that size a "picker"
because you could pick it up with tweezers maybe!
This also means this detector will detect many (not all) gold chains! How are you doing on finding gold chains?
This Detector:
is engineered to work great at finding valuable gold jewelry and gold coins using the 13.9 kHz frequency, which is super sensitive to gold items.
Target ID metal detectors:
identify targets by reading each target's signature. Whites pioneered the target number assignment by perfecting their target ID system with a 'numerical value' with the early digital Eagle detectors back in the mid-80's.
RELIC ID:
With a system using a number assignment interpretation, and with onboard computing, the detector analyzes target ID according to the 'hunting field' decided on by user's mode selection. For example; in the "RELIC" program the detector will ID targets like buckles, buttons, bullets and also iron relics!
COINS & JEWELRY:
In this hunting selection, the detector will read coins with a number value and a label like Quarter, Half Dollar, Nickel, Penny etc.
PROSPECTING:
In the prospecting mode the detector will run in a 'true all-metal mode,' as it must, with Iron ID. For example an iron item will read "
90% Iron
" where a gold item "
10% Iron
."

NON-MOTION PINPOINT WITH COMPUTER ASSIST!
Utilizing a processor similar to the system used in the French XP Deus, this detector, with a climbing pitch audio, (
V.C.O.
) will pin-point with impressive accuracy! YES! A Double D coil that will pin-point? Yep, IT WILL!
ULTRA FAST PHASE RECOVERY:
The recovery speed is ultra fast so you can spot those good targets next to trash! The processor is fast, so you don't have to be! The processor is fast enough to ID deep targets, even with slow sweep speeds.
BACKLIT DISPLAY:
Whites was taking a head-first attack at some legendary shallow water all-terrain metal detectors, when they pulled out all the stops! This beautiful 3"X 2" backlit display is awesome! The target number (V.D.I.) target names, depth, current program and discrimination are all displayed.
REJECT VOLUME:
All metal detectors will produce a little more depth running in a true all-metal mode. This detector can add a tone assignment to reject targets by filtering out their sounds without employing a phase delay. This filter system has 8 adjustment settings.
TONE ID:
Use single tone, or 2, 4, 8, or 20 tone ID. You control the tone ID!
Included with this detector is the
