Description
Offered for your consideration in an antique or vintage flag pole topper.  From, I would guess, the early to mid 1900s, the topper depicts an Eagle with full spread wings.  Made of brass or bronze (non-magnetic), the topper has a gold gilt finish.  The finial does include the pole insert post for mounting.  The eagle is fully detailed, down to the feathers and claws.  I do not detect any mark of maker or origin on the piece.  In good to very good 'as found' condition, the eagle, unfortunately, does have a nick at the bottom of the tail (see pic #9), yet could be concealed based on the positioning of use.  There is a ring in the beak of the Eagle, but I am unsure what this was for, and it was part of the original casting, and not a later addition to the topper.  It measures about 8 1/4" tall x 9 1/2" from wing tip to wing tip.  The post has a 1" diameter and includes the holes for securing to a pole.  The finial has a weight of 2 pounds and will ship at 3 pounds, as it will be boxed for protection.  Certainly a piece to complete your American Pride in your flag display.  Auctions can be combined to save on shipping.  Thank you for viewing my listing.
